After reading the first book, I literally could NOT wait for this one. The Cascade Preppers does not disappoint. It continues what the first book started, with a slew of great characters trying to survive an apocalypse type of world. In this series, you won't find zombies. What you will find is a group of average people attempting to have some semblance of a life, all the while knowing that they could lose any of them at anytime. There is nobody in this book that the virus hasn't affected in some way or another, and they've all been traumatized by it.There really is nothing negative to say about the book and series. It's well-written, creative, and big enough to keep you up late because you do not want to stop reading it until the end. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger, which worries me, as I'd hate to see the series end. The characters really grow on you, and it's hard to say goodbye to a series you genuinely enjoy. Hopefully, there will be more books as this is a fantastic series that you can't get enough of.

Pretty good read. Spoiler alert for those who don't actually want to know what the books about.
This one starts with Graham and his team. Winter is a bitch and the cold in body numbing.
Sam is now part of the team because he was infected and is immune. Sam is a good guy to have because he knows so many things. He's also heartbroken that he can never hold his daughter, Addy, again. Sam goes to see her almost every day at an arranged meeting.
Clarrisse is looking after Addy after Kim, Dalton's wife, decided that Addy just didn't fit in with her family. Dalton wasn't happy about it but decided Clarisse would be a good role model and would take good care of Addy.
Clarisse makes sure the two of them are always at the appointed place at the appointed time for those oh so important meetings with Sam.
Ennis isn't doing well and both Tala, Graham and the others are worried about the old guy. He's another man with loads of knowledge. A man who will be dearly missed when he's gone.
Clarisse is helping, via radio, with caring for Ennis.
Mark, Macy and Sam are headed out on a hunt for venison and Graham heads for town to look for prescription drugs that Clarissa says will help Ennis.
So begins another fine read by Shaw.
This one has Graham, Macy, Marcy, Mark, Bang, Sam, Tala, Clarisse, Dalton, Steve, Rick, the prepper crew, an attack by wolves who are growing bolder, Sam, Marcy and Mark getting caught in a blizzard, a crazy woman at a looted house, a Clarisse who makes a discovery that could be a game changer, a Graham who makes a trip to town in search of the medicine that Ennis needs, a Graham who's attacked by wolves. a man named McCann, a fire a the prepper camp, death and Graham and the crew in another fine read.

This episode brought me to tears of joy and tears of sorrow.
Cons
Needs another round of editing. Missing words(usually pronouns).
The rush to have every survivor paired off in a relationship. Honestly that got on my last nerve in this episode. It is not the end of the world if a person is and remains single.
I feel the 'pairing off' took away from this story as it seemed rushed and forced.
Overall, this is an exciting and emotionally moving post apocalyptic book/series that is enjoyable for all ages.
I am so glad I continued reading this series after book one THE CHINA PANDEMIC, which I wasn't too impressed with.
This second book I thoroughly enjoyed. The characters are fleshed out. The dialogue seems realistic and not stilted in this book. The plotline is much more cohesive.
I found myself cheering on different characters this time around and was actually interested in what happened to them.
There's a lot happening in this book. It's smack dab in the middle of winter but the action ramped up.
Great fun. I'm now off to read book three THE LAST INFIDELS.
I was so sorry to come to the end of this book. I wanted to give it a 4 star because of the editing but a 4 star is I LIKE IT. A 5 star is I LOVE IT and I did love this book. It was different than book 1. I usually don't like the jumping around of narrative point of view but in the end it worked in this book. It didn't center on Graham as much as the first, but it certainly spent time developing all the other characters. The best thing about these books is they are so uplifting. The characters become better people. The world becomes a better place.
Science is still a problem for those who must have everything realistic, but I've decided that, for me, it is not necessary. I can call it poetic license and do not let it detract.
Editing, however, is becoming a distraction. Indies just can't start off affording good editors. I understand that and am willing to give them time. This author is at the point where she should realize she has real potential. Financially, it's in her best interests to pay for a good editor. But the editing should not keep you from reading Graham's Resolution. I've seen much worse. has opened up the world of indies and I'm so grateful. AR Shaw is one of the best of the indies I've seen.
I really like the covers of the first two Graham's Resolution books. I always back page on books to the beginning, to see the cover. starts you on the first chapter text. You need to back page to see what's missing which is often more than the cover.
